Why our Life Plan & nonprofit status matter
Planning ahead for better living today
At Rockwood, we have embraced our Life Plan format because we believe that making a smart plan for future care is an important part of enabling seniors to more deeply enjoy their lives today.
The peace of mind of knowing that future care needs can be taken care of on campus, is vital to both our residents and their families. With assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing residences available right here on the Rockwood South Hill Campus, if and when higher levels of care are needed, residents enjoy the knowledge that they’ll get the expert, person-centered care they need from the same staff they’ve come to know and trust.
How a Life Plan works
The core of a Life Plan is relatively simple: make a plan now that provides both the very best independent living today, while also planning for future higher levels of care if and when they’re needed. A Life Plan is also a fantastic way to protect you and your family from worrying about how to access future healthcare. With certain Life Plan agreements, your monthly fees remain predictable even if you need higher levels of care in the years to come. We offer contract options where up to 90% of your entry fee is refundable to you or your heirs should you choose to leave the community or when you have lived your full life at Rockwood.
The nonprofit difference
In addition to offering a full slate of independent living and healthcare services, Rockwood’s mission-driven, nonprofit structure is another important factor when making plans for retirement life. Being a nonprofit means that profits are returned to the organization and used to make our communities better each and every day and to fulfilling our mission of service to seniors. Both Rockwood communities exist solely to enhance the daily lives of our residents.
Rockwood is governed by a Board of Trustees who set policies and maintain our mission. This Board is made up of residents from our communities along with Spokane-area residents who bring a wide range of professional expertise, community involvement and leadership.
