The Wellness Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Life Enrichment Director in managing the comprehensive wellness program that meets the needs of the residents and employees of Rockwood at Whitworth.

Pay Range: $26.00–$29.00 per hour

Shift Type: Monday – Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM with occasional weekends

Job Functions

  • Ability to lead a variety of exercise classes to meet the variable levels of employees and residents
  • Assist in ongoing education opportunities for employees and residents in all aspects of wellness that support the LiveWell program
  • Lead the LiveWell Committee meetings and play an active role in its goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement quarterly or semi-annual special programs that motivate employees and residents to improve their health and quality of life
  • Communicate to the employees and residents monthly through the newsletter, bulletin boards, and/or flyers about ongoing programs and educational opportunities and write articles on varied topics related to wellness. Maintain statistics on employee and resident involvement, and any other statistics necessary to support the wellness program
  • Stay connected to the community to seek outside resources and grant funding opportunities and to act as an advocate for aging and activity in our community
  • Oversee fitness or recreation facilities, ensuring safe and clean facilities and equipment
  • Provide individual support or counseling in general wellness and fitness
  • Ability to lead outdoor recreation leisure activities that take place in a natural setting and benefit the body, mind and/or spirit
  • Maintain confidentiality of all employee and resident information
  • Adhere to all professional standards, policies and procedures; federal, state and local requirements
  • Work cooperatively with supervisors and staff and maintain a good working relationship with all staff
  • Uphold the RRC values in all interactions
  • Assist the campus Life Enrichment program as directed
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Health Promotion, Exercise Science, or a related field
  • At least one year’s experience in the wellness industry
  • Passionate about health and exercise
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Effective oral, written, and reading skills
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current Driver’s License and insurance
