This position is responsible for developing and overseeing resident services, including planning and coordinating opportunities for residents that promote a level of health, wellbeing, engagement, and growth.
Pay Range: $28.50 – $32.00 per hour
Shift Type: Monday-Friday 8 AM-4:30 PM, with flexibility to work evening events as needed.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and conduct lifestyle programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities for residents.
- Plan appropriate programs for holidays and special events.
- Act as a liaison to develop partnerships with outside constituents.
- Recruit and develop additional resources for services to the residents. Initiate correspondence including public relations communications with outside organizations, service groups and volunteers.
- Advise and motivate residents regarding appropriate individual and group activities based on resident interests and opportunities for growth.
- Prepare and organize a calendar of events. Submit the calendar to the General Manager for final approval. Post and distribute the calendar.
- Provide ongoing communication with residents and, as necessary, family members.
- Provide leadership of wellness program.
- Coordinate the community library.
- Follow the Activities department budget.
- Organize and supervise volunteer staff.
- Address resident and other groups of common interest.
- Maintain a database and prepare reports on resident assessments, participation and satisfaction.
- Meet routinely with General Manager, Health Care Services Director, and the management team to review operational issues, set goals, and provide updates on individual resident participation.
- Supervise activities staff and meet regularly with the team.
- Participate in community in-services.
- Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Maintain work operations by following policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident information.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. BA in Sociology or Recreational Therapy. Activity Director certification preferred.
- Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Additional educational requirements for providing services in a CCRC
- Multi-tasking skills
- Effective oral, written, and reading skills
- Current CPR certification
- Food Handler’s certification
