With the vision and innovation that has always characterized Rockwood, we continue to make plans for the new 11-story tower called The Summit at Rockwood South Hill.

As a result of informational meetings/luncheons, we are able to take our next step in planning for our expansion. Sensitive to the world around us, we are planning an environmentally-responsible project with sustainable design. This is an award-winning conceptutal design, as well, as designated by DESIGN/Environments for Aging 2011 Juried Competition. Jurors judged, in bestowing the award, that it "fulfills an exceptional guiding principal and design concept—connection between operational philosophy and built environment," a place that combines natural elements of order and mystery with the realities of daily resident life. This expansion will include over 65 new apartment homes. The new residences will consist of penthouses, spacious two-bedroom apartments with two bathrooms and a den, and generous one-bedroom residences with a full bathroom and a den. The apartments will provide stunning views of Spokane and the region, quality interior finishes, full kitchens, washers and dryers, and most will have large balconies.

New public spaces will be added to include a new chapel, library, cultural center, theatre, multiple dining venues and a new bistro, rooftop lounge, fitness center and underground parking.
