Rockwood’s Assisted Living Programs look at every aspect of living.

Assisted Living at Rockwood South Hill is based on developing comprehensive care plans, using some of the most highly skilled and experienced professionals in Washington. We provide just the right amount of support with activities of daily living, along with encouragement to be successful independently in every area possible.

Assisted Living is provided in three settings, each tailored to residents’ needs.

Rockwood South Hill Fireside Suites is a first floor environment of assisted living apartments, dining and social areas.

Rockwood Suites on The Ridge’s Craftsmen-style second floor provides 24-hour assisted living apartments, dining and social areas. The third floor is in the process of conversion and will become part of the assisted living environment.

The Courtyard at Rockwood South Hill offers Alzheimer’s memory care for residents with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. This welcoming setting provides 30 private bedrooms with private baths, 2 dining rooms, 2 living rooms with fireplaces, enclosed patio and outdoor garden, and a Beauty and barbershop. Plus, there is always the security of having a nurse present.

Rockwood South Hill’s Assisted Living and Memory Care Program provide a licensed nurse and certified nursing assistants on site 24 hours a day, as well as full activity programs and other services. Rockwood at Hawthorne offers fifty-eight custom-designed apartments with beautiful views of the grounds from generous windows. Included are meal plans with three meals served, as well as weekly housekeeping and flat linen services, activities, and chaplaincy services.

When extra help is needed, our Assisted Living Program allows residents to remain in their apartments and receive daily help with challenges such as dressing, taking medications, bathing, and other activities. When more help is desired or health challenges arise, there is a 20-bed skilled nursing center for temporary or permanent care. Rockwood at Hawthorne is Medicare and Medicaid certified.

Assisted Living Guidelines

The general guideline for assisted living is an increased need for assistance with activities such as dining, bathing, taking medications on time, and other activities of daily living. Each resident has a personalized care plan developed to accommodate his or her unique assistance and life-enrichment needs. With the involvement of family, physician and staff, residents are assessed so that they may live with the proper level of care as independently as possible.

New residents may move directly into assisted living under a specific assisted living contract, following a health evaluation.
